Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist Per Visit will provide evaluation and speech-language pathology treatment in accordance with agency standards, the laws and regulations governing the provision of speech-language pathology services in the State of Maryland, District of Columbia, or Virginia, and other regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange for the provision of specialized assessments that cannot be conducted in the home environment (e.g., audiological testing, video fluoroscopy studies), and plan adequately for discharge including referrals to appropriate community resources (e.g., outpatient therapy, daycare) able to meet the client needs after discharge.
  • Communicate with a supervisor as scheduled and needed regarding issues related to the delivery of rehab services and individual patient care.
  • Provide an assessment, with the health care team, of the patient's environment and recommend adaptive equipment and/or home modifications that maximize the patient's functional abilities and safety.
  • Assist in attaining items reimbursable as durable medical equipment.
  • Provide initial and periodic assessments to determine the patient's habilitation/rehabilitation needs.
  • Establish an effective speech-language pathology/dysphasia treatment plan with the patient, their family/caregiver, their physician, and other health care team members.
  • Modify the treatment plan as needed.
  • Evaluation includes interview, observation, palpation, specialized assessments including dysphasia assessment, oral motor exam, and receptive/expressive language assessment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the State of Maryland or Virginia, or Certificate of Competency by ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) if working in the District of Columbia Maryland, or any combination as required based on work location(s).
  • Valid State Driver's License in good standing.

Compensation

This position has a hiring range of $87,318 - $149,094
