Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Roanoke County. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our Recreation Center and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe and proper use of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing floors.
  • Dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, including fixtures and paper products.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from all containers.
  • Request cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with the maintenance of exterior grounds and set up/break down rooms for rentals, programs, and events.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in cleaning buildings.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (preferred).
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility, including nights, weekends, and some holidays. You must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
