Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Northcoast Children's Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Classroom Management: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each child, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  2. Curriculum Planning: Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
  3. Child Guidance: Utilize positive guidance techniques to support children in developing self-help skills, self-esteem, and social skills.
  4. Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents, staff, and community members to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  5. Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, including daily health screenings, first aid, and emergency preparedness.
Requirements
  1. Education: Associate Teacher Permit on the Child Development Matrix or eligibility to apply.
  2. Experience: One year of teaching experience in an Early Childhood Education setting.
  3. Skills: Working knowledge of child care programs, child growth and development, and curriculum planning.
  4. Personal Qualities: Sensitive to the needs and characteristics of young children, ability to relate well to staff, parents, and community members.
Physical Requirements
  1. Health Screening: Must successfully complete a health screening and provide proof of the absence of TB within 7 days of hire.
  2. Physical Ability: Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and walking.
Training Requirements
  1. First Aid and CPR: Must possess a current pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR certificate within 30 days of hire.
  2. Criminal Record Clearance: Must have a current Criminal Record Clearance with a Child Abuse Index Check on file with Community Care Licensing.
