Counselor - Military Life Adjustment Support

Everett, Massachusetts, United States Leidos Full time
Job Summary

Leidos is seeking licensed behavioral health professionals to support U.S. military service members and their families in Washington.

The Adult-MFLC position offers a unique opportunity to serve a vital role, providing non-medical support through counseling, consultation, and outreach services. The primary goal is to address and provide solution-focused approaches to issues before they become significant challenges.

Military life presents unique emotional and environmental challenges due to stress, which impacts service members, spouses, and family members. This is an opportunity to reach them where and when they are most needed.

Critical responsibilities include face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families, observing and participating in activities with service members, and providing coaching and guidance to installation staff. Additionally, counselors will offer presentations to service members, military families, and leadership at events, promote creativity and positivity, and build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events.

The role also involves helping with transition adjustments, such as new schools and homes, participating in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned, and communicating information regarding trends and issues at the assigned installation to Team Leads.

Candidates will benefit from no insurance claims required, no progress notes, and iPad provided for digital reporting without Personal Identifiable Information (PII) or Protected Health Information (PHI). They will receive paid federal holidays, free unlimited behavioral healthcare training, reimbursement for job-related license renewal fees, and eligibility to participate in a 401K retirement plan. A centralized support system, Counseling Center of Excellence, provides best practices, expert speakers, and state-of-the-art resources.

Additional Job Duties May Include:
Responding to emergent situations on military installations
Traversing long distances to both indoor and outdoor locations, maneuvering through rugged areas, and working in various weather conditions
Traveling to different locations outside of a military base in a variety of physical environments
