Location: Richmond, VA

Job Summary:

The Pre-Release Therapist is a critical member of our team, responsible for engaging participants in our Re-entry program. This role involves conducting manualized 1:1 and group sessions, facilitating, evaluating, and refining the Participant's Life Plan within a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality 1:1 and group sessions, ensuring the quality and fidelity of our Re-entry Model content and approaches.
  • Review assessments and snapshots prior to conducting sessions, prepare necessary materials, and collect them afterwards.
  • Document sessions, complete Rubrics, and upload CAPS documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, participants, and prison staff, adhering to Company policies and best practices.
  • Meet with supervisor regularly to review progress and discuss organizational goals.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and maintain a positive, professional relationship with Company participants, team members, and community partners.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of post-master's experience with mental health, dually diagnosed, or vulnerable or high-risk populations.
  • Minimum of one-year experience working in substance use treatment.
  • Experience conducting open groups and/or manualized group treatment sessions.
  • LCSW, LPC, or another related clinical licensure.
  • Driver's license and Department of Corrections' security clearance.

Working Conditions:

  • This position works in a correctional facility and may require travel between facilities and the Company.
  • May work evenings, weekends, or outside core hours.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit and stand for a reasonable length of time, see, hear, speak, walk, and sit.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Self-Control: Maintain professional boundaries while using empathy, compassion, discipline, and optimism.
  • Resilient: Work well with oppositional/reluctant participants within the constraints of a correctional facility.
