Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough verification of prescription orders, including legend, over-the-counter, and controlled substances.
  • Evaluate medication orders and ensure accuracy against the medications presented.
  • Oversee the pre-verification process for medications dispensed through advanced mechanical systems.
  • Complete the verification and dispensing of controlled substances, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Implement Quality Assurance measures and supervise pharmacy technicians.
  • Adhere to established policies for documentation and reporting in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies in medication orders promptly.
  • Ensure comprehensive checking, labeling, and quality assurance in accordance with pharmaceutical guidelines.
  • Compound and dispense medications while following corporate and regulatory protocols.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid pharmacy license in the United States.
  • Graduation from an ACPE accredited pharmacy program is required.
  • Licensure for controlled substances is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and MS Office applications is required.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
  • Ability to pass credentialing requirements for healthcare providers.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform various physical activities including lifting, standing, and reaching.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 40 lbs over reasonable distances.
  • Must be able to push or pull with a force of up to 30 lbs.
