Job Overview

Riggs Industries is seeking skilled individuals to manage and operate various production machinery and hand tools for the purpose of cutting, fabricating, positioning, aligning, and assembling components. Candidates should be able to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications, making necessary adjustments to machine settings to ensure timely production of parts and assemblies that meet quality standards. Experience with burn tables is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and mark workpiece bending and cutting lines, taking into account stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other specifications.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and blueprints to determine the sequence of tasks.
  • Position parts manually or utilize hoists or cranes for assistance.
  • Set up and operate fabrication machines, including brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to manipulate metal components.
  • Operate CNC cutting equipment such as plasma, oxyfuel, laser, or water jet for profile cutting of aluminum and steel materials.
  • Initiate and monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications, adjusting controls as necessary.
  • Ensure finished workpieces conform to specified standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production staff, programmers, or others to troubleshoot machining or assembly issues.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with all aspects of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of vocational/technical training or possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with relevant industrial work experience.
