Job Description

Overview

St. David's Georgetown Hospital is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team. As an Endoscopy RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient environment within the endoscopy suite.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for endoscopy unit patients
  • Provide leadership and supervise the care, maintenance, and activities of the endoscopy suite
  • Ensure a clean, efficient, and safe environment within the work area
  • Complete age-appropriate assessment of patients prior to admission to surgical suite
  • Verify operative procedures and presence of signed consent on medical records
  • Verify that history, physical, and allergy information are recorded on medical records and communicated to the care team
  • Assist with care of the patient during anesthesia
  • Perform surgical preps and position the patient properly for surgery
  • Administer medications and IV therapy correctly and safely
  • Ensure availability of safe equipment, participate in process improvement, and prevent and manage accidents in the work area

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in acute care setting - required
  • 1 year of previous Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) experience - preferred
  • Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 6 months of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire
