Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Georgetown Hospital. As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced endoscopy unit. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for endoscopy unit patients
  • Provide leadership and supervise the care, maintenance, and activities of the endoscopy suite
  • Ensure a clean, efficient, and safe environment within the work area
  • Complete age-appropriate assessments of patients prior to admission to the surgical suite
  • Verify operative procedures and obtain signed consent on medical records
  • Verify that history, physical, and allergy information are recorded on medical records and communicated to the care team
  • Provide patient teaching and emotional support
  • Assist with care of the patient during anesthesia
  • Perform surgical preps and position the patient properly for surgery
  • Administer medications and IV therapy correctly and safely
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting
  • 1 year of previous Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) experience preferred
  • Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 6 months of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire
