Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Boys Town National Research Hospital. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of eye care services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, non-physician practitioner, or physician.
- Collect patient history, including reason for visit, allergies, medications, and medical history.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic eye tests on patients of all ages.
- Assist providers with patient exams, procedures, and delivery of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement projects and attend required staff meetings and continuing education sessions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program with current certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or graduate of a surgical technology accredited program and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or ophthalmic technician certification required.
- Currently active on the Nebraska Medication Aid Registry or within the first 30 days of employment, Medication Aid Registry must be maintained current thereafter.
- CPR (BLS) certification required.
- Prior working knowledge of using a personal computer and electronic medical records required.
