Job Title: Security Officer

**Job Summary:**

The Security Officer is responsible for protecting the assets, guests, and employees of the Carson Nugget by monitoring activities within the casino on a 24-hour basis. This includes acting on observations promptly and properly, completing a log of activities for future reference, and performing other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Protect guests, employees, and assets of the Carson Nugget by monitoring activities within the casino and its external surrounding areas.
  • Patrool casino areas and external surrounding areas to discover and prevent misconduct, unlawful activity, and enforce casino policies.
  • Notify the affected department head/supervisor of observed suspicious behaviors, policy/procedure violations, emergency situations, and/or disturbances.
  • Respond to service calls and complaints, monitor the in-house emergency telephone and alarm system, and monitor and respond to emergency events.
  • Act on instances of gaming protocol violation by approaching offending patrons and escorting them to the security office.
  • Contact and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in matters relating to the apprehension of offenders and the investigation of offenses.
  • Keep a record of the activities observed and acted upon during the assigned shift by completing incident reports and daily activity reports.
  • Assist in fact-finding, investigations, and other activities, looking for evidence of specific actions or incidents, as requested by management or outside agencies.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Respond to situations and requests for assistance by monitoring transmissions on the in-house security and slot radio frequencies.
  • Transport guests to and from the City Center Hotel, as requested or required by circumstances.
  • Assist in completing narrative reports and other documentation required by worker's compensation and/or liability carriers.
  • Report to work punctually and accomplish the daily responsibilities of the position with a minimum of excused/unexcused absences.

**Requirements:**

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong attention to detail.
