Position Overview: The Virginia Department of Transportation is actively seeking a certified Aquatic Safety Officer. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations through vigilant monitoring of youth during recreational and leisure activities. Responsibilities include maintaining the aquatic facility and assisting in the planning and execution of various on-campus activities designed for residents, which may include physical, therapeutic, and leisure activities.
Work Schedule: This is an hourly/wage position with a maximum of 29 hours per week. Availability to work weekends is required.
Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of recreational planning and supervision of adolescent activities. Certification as a lifeguard and a valid driver's license are mandatory by the time of employment.
