Adjunct Faculty, Genetics Instructor

The adjunct faculty members of Colorado Mountain College are dedicated to assisting students in their learning process by utilizing all available resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies to complement the teaching process. They are committed to facilitating learning throughout our communities and are expected to be engaged in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and enhance learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach classes as assigned by designated supervisor.
- Prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course objectives.
- Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with development of measurable course objectives and plans.
- Develop a relationship with students & staff that is professional and encourages teacher/student communication.
- Maintain accurate course records of students and complete course forms as required.
- Be available for student consultation.
- Assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate.
- When agreed upon, and as appropriate, assist in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.
- Represent the college in a professional manner throughout the communities and college district by promoting a positive public image.
- Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.
Supervision and Accountability:
This position will report to the Assistant Dean of Instruction or designee in alignment with discipline deans. The position may supervise student employees. Successful completion of a background check will be required as well as motor vehicles records report when applicable. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. May require travel and evening and/or weekend hours.
