Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our Arts and Humanities department at Colorado Mountain College. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality educational experiences to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses as assigned by the designated supervisor, ensuring that course objectives are met and student learning outcomes are achieved.
  • Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to the appropriate supervisor, aligning with approved course objectives.
  • Assist with the development of measurable course objectives and plans, ensuring that teaching practices are informed by best practices in education.
  • Maintain accurate course records of students and complete course forms as required, adhering to college policies and procedures.
  • Be available for student consultation, providing guidance and support to students as needed.
  • Assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate, promoting the college and its programs to potential students.
  • Participate in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance, contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning at the college.
  • Represent the college in a professional manner, promoting a positive public image and upholding the college's values and mission.
Requirements
  • Credentialing to teach in the specific program or eligibility to be credentialed.
  • A minimum of a master's degree in a specific degree for the position being recruited or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
  • Minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor.
  • Higher education teaching experience preferred.
  • An equivalent/applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience equating to two years.
  • Strong background in computers and technology, excellent organizational skills, and general office skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, and ability to research and effectively analyze data.
Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.

Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
