Job Summary

VetJobs is seeking a skilled Nuclear Instrument Technician I, II, or III to join our team at Surry Power Station in Virginia. As a Nuclear Instrument Technician, you will work under the direction of a Supervisor or Nuclear Specialist Technician to perform maintenance and calibration activities, including corrective and preventive maintenance. You will work in both shop and field environments, including normal and radiological areas of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and calibration activities, including corrective and preventive maintenance
  • Work on analog and digital control systems, including microprocessor, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation and controls
  • Correct anomalous operations of indicators, controllers, and instrument loops using advanced test equipment and investigative techniques
  • Accurately complete documentation associated with assigned job tasks and comply with approved procedures
  • Comply with and demonstrate a working knowledge of Work Management processes, Equipment Clearances (safety tagging), Radiological Work permits, and Safety regulations, policies, and practices
Requirements:
  • Nuclear Instrument Tech I: 0-2 years of related experience, commercial nuclear power experience, and Nuclear Navy (ET or EM) experience preferred
  • Nuclear Instrument Tech II: Successfully completed the Navy Nuclear Propulsion training program and possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in Nuclear Electronics Technician (ET) or possess 6 years or more industrial experience in a directly related field
  • Nuclear Instrument Tech III: Successful completion of Nuclear Instrument Technician Development Program as accredited by the National Academy for Nuclear Training
