Position OverviewThe Medical Director is essential in delivering comprehensive medical services within a correctional facility. This role includes:
- Conducting patient examinations and daily health assessments.
- Ensuring accurate and detailed documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Responding to medical emergencies and supervising healthcare staff.
- Collaborating with specialists to maintain high standards of care.
The Medical Director will:
- Work closely with the Health Services Administrator to enhance patient outcomes through quality improvement initiatives.
- Review and approve clinical protocols and policies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in committees focused on continuous quality improvement.
- Maintain transparency by reporting schedule changes to relevant authorities.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited medical school.
Experience:
- Preferred experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current medical licensure in the state of practice.
- Valid DEA registration.
- CPR certification.
- Compliance with continuing medical education requirements.
