X Energy, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Engineer III, Nuclear Structures to join our Xe-100 design team. This role is responsible for the development of the plant site layout and civil/structural design for buildings and structures of the Xe-100 plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement risk-informed and performance-based structural design criteria for civil/structural buildings and structures.
  • Apply civil engineering codes and standards to inform the development and implementation of structural design criteria.
  • Work with construction teams to evaluate sequencing, cost estimations, material quantity estimates, schedule development, and modularization concepts for development of the design.
  • Define, manage, and verify the requirements for civil/structural buildings and structures and develop new concepts that can be implemented in a cost-effective and schedule considerate manner.
  • Ensure that the requirements of later lifecycle stages are addressed at the correct point in the system design.
  • Identify, define, and manage interfaces between diverse engineering and other teams to advance the multi-discipline design for the Xe-100.
  • Ensure work complies with all applicable local, national, and international codes, regulations, and quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related degree from an accredited institution.
  • Typically, five years of experience in an engineering role required.
  • Experience with assessing civil/structural engineering phenomena to inform design of buildings and structures.
  • Analytical experience with civil/structural hazard assessment.
  • Some experience supporting project management duties is preferred.
