Job Summary

Vertex Innovations, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee the delivery of high-profile data center projects. As the owner representative, you will collaborate with vendors, general contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely and budget-friendly project outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in Mission Critical Data Center construction, telecommunications infrastructure, and project management to drive success in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from pre-construction to close-out, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Oversee Pre-Construction Support, QA/QC, Process Management, Construction Administration, Commissioning Support, and Project Close Out.
  • Implement and enforce the Scope of Work, ensuring all parties are accountable.
  • Collaborate with the project team to achieve a ZERO outage goal and maintain a pristine operating facility.
  • Depending on the project scope, you may oversee data center expansions, UPS power system installations, HVAC decommissioning, and other critical infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety requirements and monitor staffing levels to meet deadlines.
  • Review and approve standard items, including clarifications, RFIs, ASIs, submittals, change orders, and project budgets.
  • Provide assurance that construction is on track with plans and specifications and within network design standards.
  • Establish positive relationships with local municipalities and facilitate A&E coordination, GC, and subcontractors' weekly meetings.
  • Record progress photos and memorialize project progress and/or issues using a Vertex-provided iPad.
  • Supply the customer with a fully loaded monthly project status update report.
  • Review and submit the monthly Pay Application on behalf of the customer for payment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in Mission Critical / Data Center Construction.
  • Extensive background/knowledge working in/with telecom, commercial electrical work, emergency generators, PLCs, EMSBs, cooling towers, CRACs, CRAHs, AHUs, HVAC systems, AC power systems, DC power, maintenance windows, data centers, mobile switching centers, and central offices.
  • A solid understanding of building architecture, mechanical, building automation systems, electrical, structural, and fire protection.
  • Experience in all MEP construction.
  • Extensive background, experience, and knowledge of OSHA guidelines and standards, including lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Experience in the Method of Procedure (MOP) process.
  • Experience commissioning data center systems.
