Position Summary:
The Hazardous Waste Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the safe and efficient management of hazardous and retail waste at our facility. This position is essential in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team focused on the handling of hazardous and retail waste, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and refine standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure accurate completion of necessary documentation and data entry, including manifests and land disposal restriction forms.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Coordinate with the operations department to manage scheduling and transportation logistics.
  • Conduct regular audits of incoming waste containers and provide constructive feedback to management.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, setting performance goals and conducting evaluations.
  • Communicate and enforce compliance with company policies among team members.
  • Address immediate housekeeping concerns to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in hazardous waste management.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel for projects as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial driver's license.
  • Familiarity with Samsara technology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and DEA regulations regarding waste management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Capability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination, drug test, and background check.
  • Must be able to work safely in various physical conditions.
  • Physical agility and endurance to handle adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to maneuver hand trucks with loads up to 500 lbs.
