The hospice aide is a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, operating under the guidance of a registered nurse to provide essential services tailored to meet the personal needs of patients and enhance their comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

1. The Hospice Aide addresses personal care requirements after receiving a patient assignment, ensuring to respond to their requests in a timely manner. If a specific task cannot be completed, it is crucial to inform the Case Manager without delay.

2. Engaging with patients and their families using effective communication techniques that uphold ethical standards and respect confidentiality.

3. Delivering personal care services, which may include bathing, back massages, oral hygiene, hair washing, and changing bed linens as required.

4. Assisting patients with dressing and undressing as per the assigned duties.

5. Maintaining respect for the patient and family environment, while being attentive to the personal needs of the patient.

Licensure Requirement: Must possess both a CNA and HHA license.
