About the Role
The US Navy Reserve is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as Boatswain's Mates. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for supervising the maintenance of our ships, both inside and out. This role requires a wide range of skills, including standing watch, repairing and maintaining equipment, training and directing ship's maintenance personnel, and assisting with search and rescue operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance of ships, including interior and exterior repairs
- Stand watch and perform lookout duties
- Repair and maintain equipment, including small boats and tugs
- Train and direct ship's maintenance personnel
- Assist with search and rescue operations
- Participate in Navy ceremonies and events
- Transfer supplies between ships while at sea
- Operate small boats and tugs
- Assist with flight deck and amphibious operations
- Supervise deck crew in cleaning, painting, and maintaining the ship
- Direct boat crews in landing and rescue operations

Requirements
- U.S. citizen or equivalent
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 17 years of age or older
Work Environment
As a Navy Reserve Sailor, you will serve part-time, with duties carried out during scheduled drilling and training periods. You will typically work at a location close to your home, with opportunities to travel and serve on ships and at sea.
