Rigger Specialist

At M.C. Dean, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Rigger 2 to join our team. As a Rigger 2, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient setup and repair of rigging equipment for the movement of heavy equipment.

• Prepare materials for loading and set up rigging equipment for heavy equipment movement
• Operate heavy equipment machinery and dismantle rigging equipment after the job
• Communicate with the rigging team and ensure compliance with state health and safety regulations
• Inspect and prepare loads for movement, set up and level heavy equipment machinery, and select appropriate rigging gear
• Prepare and inspect rigging equipment, including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts
• Monitor and maintain rigging equipment and maneuver loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand
• Ensure compliance with state and company safety procedures and communicate with the rigging and construction team
• Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience as a Rigger
• Minimum Level 1 NCCCO certification
• NCCCO Signal person SGP
• NCCCO Rigger 1 RIG-1
• NCCCO Rigger 2 RIG-2
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
• In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery
• Excellent hearing and vision
• Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments
• High-level mathematical skills
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions

• Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period
• Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance
• Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders
• Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
• Possess good vision, the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English
• Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools
