The Clinical Risk Management Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Risk Management by overseeing processes related to general liability and claims management. This position is integral to improving health outcomes and service quality within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality while executing assigned tasks.
- Assist the Director of Risk Management in addressing complaints received through various channels, ensuring timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
- Support the maintenance of the variance and risk management database.
- Analyze statistical reports to identify trends in risk management and patient safety for leadership review.
- Act as a liaison with external regulatory bodies for patient and physician reporting and event investigations.
- Manage employee certifications in CPR and immunizations, including Hepatitis B, PPD, and influenza.
- Facilitate Risk Management training for all staff, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of training activities.
- Utilize compliance systems for training documentation and policy management.
- Serve as a facility expert in risk reduction, staying informed on industry trends.
- Develop and communicate statistical and qualitative reports on risk management trends to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and telephone skills.
- Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Common sense understanding for executing detailed instructions.
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with patients, providers, and colleagues.
- Proficient in modern office technology and Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic computer skills; ability to learn the eClinicalWorks electronic health record system quickly.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is advantageous but not mandatory; candidates may need to undergo a language assessment if applicable.
