Job Overview

The Residential Generator Technician Trainee is essential in aiding the upkeep and installation of home backup generators. The candidate should aspire to learn the trade thoroughly and eventually progress to a Lead Installer position, managing their own team.

Compensation: $23.00 per hour

Key Duties:
  1. Generator Maintenance Assistance:
    • Support routine maintenance activities, including oil changes, filter swaps, and inspections.
    • Clean and service generator components to guarantee peak performance.
    • Maintain service records and document all maintenance performed.
  2. Troubleshooting Support:
    • Assist the Residential Generator Technician in identifying and resolving generator issues.
    • Learn to utilize diagnostic tools and equipment for problem identification.
  3. Installation Assistance:
    • Help with the installation of residential backup generators following manufacturer guidelines and local regulations.
    • Assist with electrical and mechanical connections as instructed.
  4. Inventory Oversight:
    • Manage the inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring organization and accessibility.
    • Help in procuring replacement parts as necessary.
  5. Safety Protocol Adherence:
    • Follow safety standards and procedures consistently.
    • Engage in safety training sessions as required.
  6. Client Interaction:
    • Engage with homeowners in a polite and professional manner.
    • Provide basic information and respond to inquiries regarding generator maintenance and operation.
  7. Documentation Support:
    • Assist in creating service reports, invoices, and job documentation.

Qualifications:
