- Staff Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, and operation of equipment, as well as food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment for staff and clients.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of food and non-food supplies, ensuring that necessary products are available when needed, while staying within established guidelines.
- Compliance and Safety: Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff and clients.
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
- Skills: Extensive catering experience, high-volume, complex foodservice operations experience, institutional and batch cooking experiences, hands-on chef experience, comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, and experience with computers, including Microsoft Office and the Internet.
- ServSafe Certification: Highly desirable.
- Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in a culinary or kitchen management role.
