NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is a leading medical center that offers comprehensive care in various specialties and subspecialties. We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the NICU department, working PRN night shifts.

Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the NICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. You will utilize your clinical expertise to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring that each patient receives individualized attention and care.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
  • Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
  • Evaluate your own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare consumer, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the profession and the professional practice setting.
  • Communicate effectively in a variety of formats in all areas of practice.
  • Contribute to quality nursing practice.
  • Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
  • Attain knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
  • Practice ethically using the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements to guide practice.
  • Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Coordinate care delivery.
  • Implement the identified plan.
  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse License-NYS.
  • Current and valid BLS certification.
  • Current and valid ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP, as required by population, within one (1) year of Hire.
  • Knowledge of standards of practice for all areas of patient care.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
