Position Summary

Under the guidance of leadership, the Patient Account Navigator Lead plays a crucial role in welcoming patients, ensuring the accurate collection of registration details, and serving as a key resource for fellow Patient Account Navigators.

Qualifications
  • Preferred: Associate degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a medical front office setting.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehend insurance benefits and assist patients in navigating their options.
  • Conduct interviews with patients and their families to gather essential registration information, particularly for uninsured individuals.
  • Manage cash transactions, process insurance updates, and oversee patient check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Collect self-pay balances, post professional charges, and reconcile financial records at the end of each clinic session.
  • Respond to requests for medical records from patients and other parties.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area and waiting room.
  • Facilitate communication with drug representatives in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Monitor the waiting area to effectively communicate patient wait times and assist with check-in processes.
  • Provide support to patients requiring additional assistance, including those needing wheelchair access.
  • Report any incidents involving patients to improve quality of care.
  • Complete daily reviews of documentation as required.
  • Order and manage office and breakroom supplies.
  • Act as a resource for Patient Account Navigator staff.
  • Process requests for medical records efficiently.
  • Provide coverage for other front office roles as needed, including call center duties and referrals.
  • Travel to satellite clinics as assigned.
Education Requirements
  • Preferred: Associate degree or related education and experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and type for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
