Veterinary Pathologist Position

About the Role:
The University of Arizona is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Pathologist to join our team. As an Anatomic Pathologist, you will be responsible for a diverse workload with companion animals, livestock, wildlife, and some exotics.
You will have the opportunity to work with our welcoming and inclusive faculty and staff, as well as being a part of Research, Innovation & Impact (RII)'s community.
The laboratory is one of the original twelve laboratories partnered in the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) and participates in supporting the Cooperative Extension's Arizona Livestock Incident Response Team (ALIRT).
ALIRT was designed to enhance the diagnosis of unexplained mortality events in livestock.
You will have opportunities to work with and mentor veterinary students as well as continuing education opportunities.
Mentorship is available for early career pathologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Necropsy Service
- Gross and Histopathological examinations on all species
- Case coordination
- Biopsy service
- Consultation with colleagues, practitioners, shelters, law enforcement and local, state or federal agencies
- Communicating with clients orally and in writing with clients and stakeholders
- Writing and interpreting test results
- Participation in the Quality Management system
- Additional duties may be assigned
Requirements:
- DVM and Board Certification Eligible in Pathology
- 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
