We invite you to join our team as a Nursing Assistant on our 3 South PCU team at Garnet Health Medical Center Middletown. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

The Nursing Assistant performs a range of patient care tasks and unit duties under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. These tasks include assisting with patient care, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing emotional support to patients and families.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent preparation and/or experience. A high school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred. You should also have at least one year of prior acute care experience or completion of a first clinical course in an RN/LPN program.

Certification as a CNA is preferred if experience is minimal. BLS certification is required and must be current and ongoing. Internal Crisis Intervention training is also required.

Working Conditions

This role requires prolonged standing and walking, as well as the ability to lift 10 pounds. You will work in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility with no routine exposure to hazards. You must be able to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time position with irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to participate in operational and community events as necessary. You will be subject to varying and unpredictable situations and occasionally to irregular work hours. Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances is required, and you may be exposed to unpleasant patient elements.
