This role involves maintaining, timing, and repairing high-speed packaging machinery while ensuring production goals are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate multi-skilled capabilities with a strong mechanical aptitude and a solid electrical foundation. Basic skills in welding and machining (lathe, mill, drill press, band saw) are essential.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, time, and repair packaging equipment, including pack lines, palletizers, stretch wrappers, and raw material conveyors, with minimal downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with GFSI and FDA standards while working with regulated products.
  • Adhere to all plant food safety protocols and fundamental HACCP principles.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all packaging machinery.
  • Fabricate necessary stock parts for packaging equipment.
  • Repair or rebuild motors, brakes, pumps, etc., as required.
  • Monitor electrical issues across all equipment, including PLCs.
  • Execute machine changeovers and set up all baking soda packaging lines for optimal production efficiency.
  • Assist in achieving high-quality standards and production targets within the Packaging Department.
  • Be available for overtime as necessary to meet production needs.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, in the Baking Soda Department.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Follow safe operating procedures and protocols, including Lock Out Tag Procedures.
  • Address any conflicts related to production schedules, performance, or quality with the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace by adhering to the 5S program, which includes cleaning, waste disposal, and organization.
  • Support other departmental functions as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Adhere to safe operating procedures and sound judgment.
  • Comply with all facility regulations to uphold the quality and integrity of raw materials and finished products.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least two years of mechanical experience is necessary.
