Position Overview

AZTEC Engineering Group is in search of a Railway Project Engineer to enhance our dedicated team. This role is pivotal within AZTEC's Rail and Transit division, engaging in significant projects that encompass high-speed rail, commuter rail, metro systems, light rail, streetcars, and bus rapid transit across North America, with a primary focus on California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive railway and transit designs, including the creation of detailed plans and specifications.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality rail and transit engineering projects, adhering to budgetary constraints and timelines while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of all design documents, reports, inspections, and necessary information for client service.
  • Guarantee compliance with client schedules and project milestones.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely completion of documentation.
  • Conduct preparation and verification of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and project plans.
  • Adapt and interpret available guidelines to determine suitable actions for each project.
  • Provide support to the TYPSA Group Railway Department on international projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Rail and Transit projects, preferably with familiarity in California transportation agencies.
  • Possession of California P.E. certification or eligibility to obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to maintain insurability under company policy.
  • Familiarity with Primavera and Project Wise software is advantageous.
  • Local experience in California is highly desirable.
