Position Overview:
The Environmental Education Internship offers a unique chance to delve into the field of ecological education. The intern will support the implementation of educational initiatives and assist in the daily functions of the organization. This role is designed to enhance teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and various instructional strategies.

Internship Details:
This is a temporary, paid position with a compensation of $15.00 per hour, requiring a commitment of approximately 8-12 hours per week. Interns will collaborate closely with the Education Coordinator to refine their skills and complete a project tailored to their personal interests. This internship may qualify for academic credit at various institutions.

Schedule Requirements:
Programs are conducted during standard school hours, typically from 8 AM to 12 PM, Wednesday through Friday. Interns are expected to be available for at least two days per week during these hours and must also commit to one Saturday morning each month for outreach or program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate educational experiences for elementary students during outdoor excursions.
- Lead interactive activities during classroom visits.
- Engage with high school students through service-learning opportunities.
- Conduct community outreach at various events.
- Develop engaging activities and curricula for family and community programs.
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of educational materials and spaces.

Qualifications:
- Background in environmental education or related fields is preferred.
- Experience working with elementary students is highly desirable.
- Must be adaptable, hardworking, and self-driven.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a significant advantage.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 15 lbs.
- Must be capable of navigating uneven terrain and leading groups outdoors in varying weather conditions.
