Custodial Professional Job Description

Nakupuna Consulting & Sales, LLC. is seeking a highly skilled Custodial Professional to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Report to and take direction from a Facility Maintenance Manager who is responsible for housekeeping services in the facility.
  • Clean and sanitize all rooms, including laboratories, washrooms, offices, conference rooms, record rooms, and common areas, using established practices and procedures.
  • Keep washrooms stocked with appropriate supplies.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and garbage; move equipment, as necessary.
  • Order and distribute custodial supplies; maintain inventory.
  • Observe and report safety violations; actively participate in emergency situations.
  • Maintain necessary records; prepare required reports.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning compounds.
  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use, check for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
  • Attend to emergencies when necessary.
  • Attend safety meetings and other related meetings.
  • Take classes as required in cleaning methods and techniques, new products, First Aid, CPR, and working relationships.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and with a team.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Proven record of cleaning and sanitizing laboratories, offices, washrooms, and showers.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard cleaning procedures.
  • Strong background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Proven ability to work for long hours on one's feet.
  • Agile to perform physical tasks constantly.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.

This position resides on a military installation. Candidate must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass. Nakupuna Consulting & Sales, LLC. will work with the government to obtain this pass at no cost to the employee. This position provides custodial services at Offutt AFB, Nebraska.

Candidate must be able to qualify and obtain a SECRET security clearance. This position requires an active SECRET security clearance for continued employment and must be a U.S. Citizen.

Requirements consist of 2 years experience in building or institutional custodial work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee is on his/her feet most of the shift and must be able to walk to/from distant trash disposal sites daily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch, occasionally crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee needs to have the ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.

This federal government project is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA). The hourly rate for this position is determined by the location where work is performed. In addition to hourly pay, positions subject to SCA are entitled to a health and welfare (H&W) payment, which may be adjusted based employee selection of company benefits in lieu of H&W.
