Clark College is seeking applications for a temporary, part-time Retail Clerk 1 position in our bustling food court. This role is crucial in providing outstanding customer service to our campus and local community, playing a vital part in the success of our kiosk and food court operations. Responsibilities include merchandising student-created products, ensuring cleanliness and organization, and maintaining stock levels while adhering to the highest food safety standards. The position requires availability Monday through Thursday, totaling 17 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service consistently to every patron.
- Manage product displays and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Foster a positive work atmosphere and exhibit effective problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborate with management to relay information, challenges, and requirements to the Cuisine Management Program.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the Point of Sale system and follow cash handling protocols with accuracy.
- Prepare deposit slips, tally cash, and conduct bank deposits.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment, balancing all assigned tasks during shifts.
- Understand and uphold food safety policies.
- Act responsibly in managing college resources.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements:
Candidates will be assessed based on their application materials, including supplemental questions and interviews, demonstrating competencies in the following areas:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Food Handlers Card for the State of Washington.
Job Readiness and Conditions:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4-6 hours).
- Capability to climb ladders, crouch, and kneel as needed.
- Ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- A background check will be conducted prior to hiring, considering all relevant factors.
Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
