Job Description

**Hero Designer Position at Blizzard Entertainment**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hero Designer to join our team at Blizzard Entertainment. As a Hero Designer, you will be responsible for creating and developing new heroes for our popular game, Overwatch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new heroes, including their abilities, playstyles, and balance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including art, programming, and production, to ensure a high-quality gaming experience.
  • Develop balance adjustments and redesign heroes for the current live game.
  • Master our tools to effectively prototype and debug abilities.
  • Create and maintain design documentation for features and systems.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the overall gameplay and user experience of Overwatch.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in game design, preferably in the role of a hero designer or similar position.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing player characters and/or associated systems.
  • Experience in developing or playing first-person shooters.
  • Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including programming, design, art, and production.
  • A keen understanding of what makes a player's experience fun and compelling.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing multiplayer co-op games.
  • Ability to create and balance game systems.
  • Cross-disciplinary skills in areas such as art, programming, production, or sound.
  • Familiarity with game engines and development tools.
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
