Position Summary:

The Senior Systems Architect will play a pivotal role in guiding the design and development of innovative software solutions for intricate application challenges, encompassing API design, data services, platform services, cloud services, and infrastructure services to fulfill user needs while aligning with strategic objectives and the Enterprise Architecture.

This position requires a deep understanding of software development, aiding in high-level design decisions, and establishing technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms.

The architect will oversee the management of source code to support baseline service deployments and facilitate the integration of code baselines into production environments. Additionally, they will enhance functionality to enable edits of published entities outside the baseline cycle to rectify errors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor Mid-Level and Junior-Level software engineers in the design, development, maintenance, and documentation of software requirements, ensuring alignment with solution architecture and requirements.
  • Assist in analyzing user requirements, procedures, and challenges to automate or enhance existing software systems.

  • Guide Mid-Level and Junior-Level engineers in proposing modifications to the software solutions architecture based on requirement analysis and emerging technologies.
  • Support high-level software design decisions and technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms.

  • Develop prototypes to assess new technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.

  • Extensive experience in government or industry in relevant domains, including:

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: cloud computing, service orientation, containerization, micro-services, API development, or DevSecOps.
  • Experience in delivering functional products to clients in a contemporary, cloud-based software environment.
Knowledge of client-server architecture and managing MySQL database operations in a web context.

Familiarity with:
o Java
o JavaScript
o JSP
o Hibernate
o Tomcat
o HTML5
o CSS

Preferred:
A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
