Central Maine Medical Center is actively looking for a Surgical Technologist to become a vital part of our Cardiovascular team. This role is a full-time opportunity, offering a comprehensive benefits package and a schedule of 36 hours per week during daytime hours.

Position Overview:
  • Support the lead Surgeon and/or Cardiac Anesthesiologist throughout cardiovascular surgical procedures.
  • Adhere to established performance standards and prioritize patient safety protocols.
  • Align with the Mission and Values of Central Maine Medical Center.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist is required within the first year of employment.
  • Ongoing maintenance of national certification is essential.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency as the primary or secondary Surgical Technologist during surgical interventions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, instruments, equipment, and surgeon preferences.
  • Prepare the operating room with all necessary materials for each surgical case.
  • Implement aseptic techniques to ensure the highest level of patient safety.
