Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to support our dynamic Pulmonary & Sleep practice. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our healthcare team to gather test samples, maintain patient documentation, clarify common medical procedures to patients, and assist in basic examinations.

Work Schedule

Shifts will vary between 8 AM and 6 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the physician during patient examinations.
  2. Guide patients to examination rooms, conduct interviews, measure vital signs such as weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and accurately document all findings in the patient's chart.
  3. Provide instructions to patients as directed by the physician.
  4. Ensure that all relevant reports, lab results, and information are scanned and accessible in the patients' electronic medical records before their appointments.
  5. Maintain examination rooms with sufficient medical supplies.
  6. Handle telephone messages and respond to inquiries from patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
  7. Triage and relay messages from patients and front office staff to physicians.
  8. Manage phone calls, greet patients, and schedule appointments.
  9. Process prior authorizations for medications and tests.
  10. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the clinical coordinator or practice administrator.

Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge: Familiarity with the healthcare sector and medical specialties, medical terminology, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).

Skills: Punctuality, exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette, ability to maintain organized systems for efficient patient flow, and proficiency in performing phlebotomy and administering injections.

Education: High school diploma and certification as a medical assistant (proof required at the time of the interview).

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: Based on experience, starting from $17.00 per hour.
