Job Summary:

Progressive Pipe is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our fire fabrication shop in Trinity, AL. As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating pipe for fire protection systems by cutting, threading, and weld checking each pipe, and then bundling pipe for each job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use various machinery to fabricate pipe
  • Study and interpret assembly instructions to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Listen to directions from supervisors to ensure understanding of tasks
  • Fabricate and assemble pipe per instructions, ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Read parts lists and determine if all parts are present to ensure completeness
  • Assemble tools, materials, and various components to facilitate fabrication
  • Interpret measurements to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Verify specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly to ensure quality and safety
  • Resolve assembly and production issues with management's assistance
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed to minimize downtime
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe to prevent accidents
  • Report errors in production to management for prompt resolution
Qualifications:
  • Read a tape measure down to a 1⁄4" to ensure accuracy
  • Be dependable and have good attendance to meet job requirements
  • Have a positive attitude and good work ethic to contribute to team success
  • Be able to communicate ideas, thoughts, etc. both verbally and in written form to collaborate with team members
  • Be able to work Saturday (will count against attendance record if missed) to meet job requirements
  • Be 18 years or older to meet minimum age requirement
  • Have attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Be able to follow directions and communicate with others to collaborate effectively
  • Be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly to meet job requirements
  • Be able to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts to meet job requirements
  • Be able to pass a drug test to ensure a safe working environment
