We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Case Managers / Special Education Teachers to enhance our educational offerings. Reporting directly to the School Principal and the Director of Specialized Services, this role is pivotal in fostering a comprehensive educational experience for students with disabilities, ensuring adherence to legal standards while striving for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Specialized Services Team to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that promote student success.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty on best practices in special education, ensuring all staff are informed and equipped to support students.
  • Engage with students and their families to address individual needs and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations regarding special education.

  • 2-5 years of teaching experience in urban educational settings.
  • Valid LBS1 Special Education Teacher Certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

Case Management Duties (40-80%):

  • Organize and manage timelines for annual reviews and evaluations in accordance with IDEA.
  • Ensure timely notification to families regarding conferences.
  • Lead and coordinate all meetings related to FIEs, IEPs, BIPs, and 504 plans.
  • Facilitate understanding of meeting documentation for parents and students.
  • Monitor the implementation of IEP services and accommodations.
  • Oversee the special education referral process, collaborating with school leadership.
  • Gather necessary IEP documentation for newly enrolled students.
  • Ensure all IEPs are relevant, measurable, and compliant with legal standards.
  • Facilitate transition planning for students moving to high school.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure all staff understand the use of IEPs and related documents.
  • Engage in regular meetings with school leadership to enhance the special education program.
  • Provide feedback and support to special education teachers regarding IEPs.
  • Communicate effectively with families to foster involvement in their children's education.
  • Manage special education documentation and files.
  • Participate in relevant special education meetings and keep staff updated.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Teaching Duties (60-20%):

  • Establish and pursue ambitious academic and character development goals for students.
  • Adapt and implement curriculum to meet educational standards.
  • Design assessments to evaluate student progress.
  • Utilize data analysis to inform instructional strategies.
  • Maintain a disciplined and rigorous classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a supportive and challenging educational atmosphere.
  • Adhere to school policies that uphold core values and expectations.
  • Model and promote positive student behaviors such as respect and integrity.
  • Ensure all students are prepared for their next academic challenges.
  • Reflect on teaching practices and seek continuous improvement.
  • Engage in mandatory training sessions as required.
