KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Safety Management:

  • Responsible for the safety performance of maintenance operations conducted by both internal teams and external contractors.
  • Ensures the safe functioning of all equipment.
  • Implements safety enhancement initiatives based on prioritized projects, including employee feedback, continuous improvement notifications, and audit results.

  • Skilled in collaborating with local and corporate support teams to drive plant enhancements.
  • Willingness to work alongside Production Supervisors to identify and resolve bottlenecks, thereby improving production output.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Accountable for the skills development of the maintenance team and for establishing a succession plan.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing strategies to enhance team engagement.
  • Oversees the planning and management of the maintenance budget, including growth and sustaining capital expenditures.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Ensures equipment availability and leads reliability improvement initiatives focused on mitigating failure risks.
  • Manages the Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and tracks maintenance performance indicators (Quality, Timing, Backlog).
  • Responsible for planning and adhering to the maintenance operational expenditure budget.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluates and selects technology for new equipment and growth projects in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Plans and executes the capital expenditure strategy.
  • Leads the development and execution of growth and improvement initiatives.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Oversees maintenance of all assets and equipment across various operational sectors.
  • Manages the maintenance and operation of plant utilities and shared infrastructure, including electrical distribution, gas, water, compressed air, and automation systems.
  • Responsible for spare parts inventory management.
  • Oversees contractor management.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 5 years of hands-on experience in a progressive organization, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of leading a department to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 3 years of experience with Preventative Maintenance Systems is preferred.
  • Experience in the metals industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and hydraulic press operations.
  • Experience in equipment condition monitoring.
