Job Summary:

At St John's Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Cardiac Care Nurse to join our team. As a Cardiac Care Nurse, you will play a critical role in attending to patients with heart conditions, cardiac issues, and associated illnesses. Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored care to enhance recovery and quality of life for our patients.

Responsibilities:

Monitor patients' cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities.
Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications.
Perform assessments of patients' cardiac status, including physical assessments, review medical histories, and evaluate symptoms.
Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices.
React promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, or respiratory distress, necessitating immediate implementation of emergency procedures, administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and aiding in defibrillation and other crucial life-saving measures.

Requirements:

Current and valid state RN License.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN. Shifts available include nights with a differential pay of $2.00 to $6.00. If you have experience as a Registered Nurse in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care, or Emergency Department, you are encouraged to apply.
