We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Mount Sinai Morningside. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing and assisting in ultrasound examinations, providing technical assistance to radiologists, and maintaining and caring for all ultrasound equipment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and examine patients for ultrasound examinations, verifying their identity and obtaining health status and medical history.
- Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, taking safety precautions to protect patients and personnel from electric shock or other hazards.
- Communicate with patients, their representatives, and staff, explaining exams and instructions and answering questions.
- Analyze sonographic findings to obtain comprehensive exams sufficient for a physician to direct patient management and render a diagnosis.
- Perform measurements and calculations according to laboratory and ACR protocols and guidelines, minimizing patient exposure to acoustic energy.
- Record diagnostic images and data for use by interpreting physicians and provide an oral summary of preliminary findings.
- Ensure adequate supplies are available and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- 0-2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Qualifications include a strong understanding of ultrasound principles and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
