Medical Office Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at Optum. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the healthcare team by performing various administrative tasks, ensuring seamless patient care, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information, including name, address, and insurance details.
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service to ensure seamless billing and payment processes.
- Obtain patient signatures for required documents, such as consent forms and medical records.
- Confirm and schedule appointments, ensuring timely and efficient patient care.
- Follow the Cash Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelines to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
- Perform referral documentation promptly to ensure timely and accurate communication with healthcare providers.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
- Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals, maintaining a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience preferred.
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of medical procedures and protocols.
