At Five Paws of Delaware County, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional pet care services. Our team members are offered numerous opportunities for professional development and personal growth.
Work Schedule:
- This position is designed for part-time employment, with most staff working between 15 to 30 hours per week.
- Our operational hours are from 7 AM to 10 PM.
- This role requires consistent availability; flexibility is not a priority.
- Available work blocks include:
- Early Daytime: 7 AM - 2 PM
- Daytime Only: 9 AM - 3 PM
- Evening/Weekend: 5 PM - 10 PM (minimum of 3 days per week, including 3 weekends per month)
- Optional overnight pet sitting for additional earnings.
- Note that availability blocks do not guarantee continuous work during those hours, as client demand may vary.
- Part-time availability on major holidays is required.
Location:
- We are currently seeking candidates in surrounding communities.
- We proudly serve various areas.
Compensation:
Hourly pay ranges from $17 to $21, based on visits. Staff typically start at $17 per hour, with most averaging between $19 and $21 per hour through bonuses and client gratuities.
- Monthly earnings can range from $1,000 to $2,300.
- 100% of client gratuities are retained by staff.
- Mileage reimbursement is provided.
- Overnight services are compensated at a flat rate.
- Employee discounts and paid training are also available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a variety of services, including daily dog walks, vacation visits, overnight stays, and care for cats.
- Exhibit empathy and patience towards all pets, regardless of size or species.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and management.
- Demonstrate reliability and dedication, as animals depend on our services.
- Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
- Possess a modern smartphone with texting, photo, data, and GPS capabilities.
- Collaborate effectively as a team player.
- Practice time management to ensure punctuality for all assigned visits.
- Have a genuine passion for animal care and safety.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Previous experience with animals, whether professional or volunteer, is preferred, but a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are equally valued.

- Special consideration will be given to candidates with availability during evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
