Job Summary

Schaeffler is seeking a highly skilled Non-Destructive Testing Engineer to oversee NDT processes, ensuring continual improvement and compliance. This role requires frequent travel to multiple Connecticut locations for consistent implementation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage NDT personnel qualifications and certifications, maintaining rigorous standards.
  • Provide or supervise training, examinations, and certifications for NDT personnel.
  • Conduct audits of external agencies to verify compliance with company standards.
  • Interpret test results, determine acceptance/rejection based on codes and standards.
  • Approve test methods, techniques, and procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering on product design and tooling to integrate NDT requirements.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings to ensure NDT compliance.
  • Appoint NDT personnel, auditors, instructors, and examiners in conjunction with QA Manager, ensuring competence and alignment with company standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Associates degree in NDT.
  • 3 – 5 years' experience in directly related field (level III).
  • Computer literate with Microsoft applications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification desired.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer/Reliability Engineer.
