The Oncology Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering specialized care to patients undergoing infusion therapies. As part of Elevance Health, you will contribute to our mission of enhancing lives through comprehensive healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Oncology Registered Nurse include:
- Administering prescribed therapies in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and documenting findings accurately.
- Educating patients and their families about treatment plans and expected outcomes.
- Monitoring patient responses to therapies and reporting significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- An Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) with a minimum of two years of clinical experience.
- A valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Multi-state licensure is preferred for candidates providing services across state lines.
Preferred Experience
Ideal candidates will have:
- Five or more years of experience in intravenous (IV) therapy.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Three or more years of experience in oncology nursing.
- Certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or OCN certification.
