Emergency Room Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and customer service while working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess and manage the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in the emergency department.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, involving patients and their families in the decision-making process.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and coordinate care, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care and make revisions as needed, making referrals when indicated.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, assessing individual learning needs and readiness.
- Function as a psychiatric emergency nurse, triage nurse, charge nurse, and preceptor as assigned.
- Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self-development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
We are seeking a registered nurse with a strong foundation in emergency nursing, preferably with previous ED experience. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, and proficiency in electronic patient records and computer software is required. Current BLS certification is required upon hire, with ACLS and PALS certification required within 6 months of hire. CPI certification is required within 1 year of hire, and TNCC and CEN certifications are strongly preferred.
