Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor will report directly to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, overseeing all functions of the maintenance department within the plant. This role is crucial in enhancing operational efficiency through the assessment and enhancement of existing maintenance programs, developing team members, and collaborating with various departments to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of maintenance professionals, promoting a culture centered on safety, collaboration, and ongoing development.
- Provide essential support to production teams by addressing troubleshooting needs and ensuring prompt resolution of equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Refine and enhance existing Preventative and Predictive Maintenance programs for all equipment, working closely with the continuous improvement manager to optimize efficiency.
- Participate in the Clean-Inspect-Lube (CIL) program implementation, contributing to the development of autonomous maintenance practices.
- Supervise daily maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory effectively, ensuring availability while optimizing costs.
- Coordinate the installation and maintenance of new equipment, developing appropriate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with documentation and testing requirements as per company policies.
- Oversee departmental scheduling, timecard approvals, and vacation coordination to maintain production coverage.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on maintenance strategies and tools, fostering skill development within the team.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor maintenance team performance and drive accountability.
- Work with the EHS manager to conduct regular safety inspections, reinforcing a safety-first culture within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, maintenance management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role and over 8 years in an industrial maintenance setting.
- Experience in manufacturing with a focus on leading Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives is highly desirable.
- Strong background in industrial plant maintenance with the capability to lead complex operations.
- Proficient in troubleshooting equipment and employing a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse maintenance team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing clear reports.
- Familiarity with CMMS, particularly Limble, is preferred.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques is advantageous.
