Job Summary

The Truss Fabricator is a team member that performs manual roof and floor truss fabrication by constructing the components on an assembly line. This role involves working with a team to create high-quality trusses that meet customer specifications.

About the Role
  • This is a full-time position with competitive pay ranging from $20.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • We have both day and night shift positions available, Monday through Friday, with Saturdays required every other week until further notice.
Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Reviewing engineering layout and cut sheets to verify correct wood materials, lengths, grade, and size.
  • Setting up jigs with team members for each specific truss in pre-production.
  • Applying the correct plate sizes during assembly per computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Checking quality of product and verifying critical specifications such as heel height, seat cuts, depths, spans, and squareness of the truss.
  • Assembling trusses with assigned team members.
  • Pacing work to equal the lead assembler's productivity goals.
  • Achieving daily, weekly, project, and team-related productivity goals as determined by Production Management.
  • Ensuring all components comply with required standards from the Truss Plate Institute (TPI) and other relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Stacking and bundling all trusses and verifying all orders are correctly marked.
  • Maintaining a clean job site by collecting tools and equipment, securing the area to eliminate potential hazards, and restocking connector plates as needed.
